iPhone 4S launch helps end HTC?s record revenue run

HTC has been on a tear this year, registering month after month of record revenue thanks to strong demand for its Android-powered smartphones. The Taiwan-based vendor saw six straight months of record revenue until October, when it recorded revenue of�NT$44.11 billion, a 2.8% dip compared to September. Revenue was up 36% over October 2010, however. Apple’s iPhone 4S sold more than 4 million units during its launch weekend alone�following the device’s release on October 14th, and while the new Apple smartphone may have had some impact on sales of HTC phones, the company had already issued light fourth-quarter guidance during its third-quarter earnings report.
