Sony Ericsson trademark filing reveals Xperia Ion name
In the coming year, Sony Ericsson�plans to have more of an Android presence in the United States. Earlier rumors suggested that Sony is planning a high-end smartphone that will land on AT&T, code-named “LT28at.” Additionally, another high-end device code-named “Nozomi” is currently being tested by carriers in Hong Kong and could possibly make its way stateside. According to a recently filed trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Sony is looking to market a new device as the “Xperia Ion.” The trademark was filed shortly before the holidays on December 13th for use in connection with “mobile phones.” With the Consumer Electronic Show just around the corner, we could certainly see this new Xperia device revealed at the show

LG hasn’t launched a Windows Phone in the United States since it began offering the LG Quantum on AT&T over a year ago. That may change soon now that an image of a device dubbed the “LG Fantasy” has been leaked running Windows Phone, however. AT&T spectrum buy granted FCC approval
Now that its bid to acquire T-Mobile USA for $39 billion has been�put to bed by strong opposition, AT&T has to look elsewhere in an effort to find spectrum that will accommodate the carrier’s ever-growing subscriber base while it transitions to LTE. Go Daddy Withdraws SOPA Support After Online Backlash
Domain seller Go Daddy today backpedaled on its support for the controversial U.S. "Stop Online Piracy Act," a.k.a. SOPA, which had drawn threats of boycotts on Reddit and elsewhere. Samsung on Thursday unveiled two new dual-SIM smartphones, the Galaxy Y Duos and the Galaxy Y Pro Duos. A phone with two SIM card slots offers a number of benefits; it’s perfect for two people hoping to share a single phone in emerging markets, but it’s also great for business travelers that want to use one account for personal matters and a second as a business line. The Galaxy Y Duos runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and has a processor clocked at 832MHz and a 3-megapixel camera. eBay Acquires Invoicing Company in Germany
EBay has acquired BillSAFE, which serves 15 million accounts in Germany, after buying a minority stake in the company last year. Terms were not disclosed. With BillSAFE, PayPal customers will now be able to receive an invoice for an order, after items have been shipped and received. Because of its security benefits, purchasing by invoice is used heavily in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands, eBay says.

Yahoo Adds Twitter, Local Deals to Livestand App
Yahoo has updated Livestand, its magazine app for the iPad, to include Twitter feeds; local deals from Groupon, LivingSocial and Bloomspot; and a recipe finder.
